Fifth Avenue Renovation

The focus of this renovation was to bring natural light into what had been a dark apartment with many small, isolated spaces. Five foot wide openings, fitted with sliding or recessed doors, connect living spaces, creating discrete “rooms” and an open, light filled family environment. Materials, such as frosted glass, mahogany, leather and brushed stainless steel, add to the warmth of the home.

Design Challenge

To reconfigure the existing layout, taking advantage of previously under utilized space. We re-proportioned an exterior balcony as interior space, added a window opening, concealed a roof drain inside a display case and a plumbing pipe inside kitchen shelves all resulting in a more open and efficient space.
